A championship mindset. A world-class athletic career. A coach who gets results.
Coach Kenneth Decuir brings the discipline, strategy, and excellence of a top-tier athlete to every training session. Recruited for NCAA Division 1 basketball by his sophomore year in high school, he helped lead his team to two Louisiana state semifinal appearances. By 11th grade, he took up high jump — and soared to Top 5 ranking in the U.S., becoming a two-time state qualifier and U.S. Junior Olympic medalist.
He earned multiple D1 offers for track and became a multi-time All-Conference performer at McNeese State University. At his peak, he ranked Top 25 nationally and Top 50 globally with a 7'2¼" jump — all while training with Olympic legend Hollis Conway, a 2-time medalist and American record holder.
Today, Coach Decuir channels that elite-level insight into coaching young athletes from the ground up. In Katy ISD, he’s coached football, basketball, volleyball, and track — leading teams to district championships and playoff success. As a head track & field coach in one of Texas’s most competitive regions, he’s produced 9 state qualifiers, 3 state champions, and scholarship athletes at schools like UPenn, MIT, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Clemson.
He has been part of Katy Blazin’ Red Youth Track Club since day one, working alongside Coach Darcey to mentor athletes ages 4–18 — instilling a love for the sport, discipline, and personal growth every step of the way.
Known for his technical eye, real-time video analysis, and motivating coaching style, Coach Decuir is trusted by student-athletes, parents, and coaches across the Greater Houston area. He continues to coach both high school and collegiate athletes — many of whom return home to train with him and invite him to their NCAA meets.
Coach Decuir doesn’t just build athletes.
He builds champions.
